Boats are well maintained, and safety was observed at all times. The… read more boat captain was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about St Lucia estuary, the hippos and crocodiles and birdlife. Two of their boats were operating, and I found them very considerate of the wildlife, allowing all participants to view the hippos, while not disturbing them. We enjoyed the tour, and got amazing shots and videos of the hippos, as well as sighted a few crocodiles. Birdlife was great and we saw many of the indigenous species. Definitely something worthwhile to put on your itinerary when visiting St Lucia.

The sea… read more was a little rough, but as soon as we started to see the whales around us, everyone forgot the sea! We saw loads of whales, many in courtship spectacles. We got pretty close and got some great photos. All the crew were just brilliant.

We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the owner of this company. She goes down and the most unfriendly person we met in our three weeks in South Africa. She should on a course to learn about customer service.

  Deep Sea Fishing Trip with Advantage – We booked a Father and son deep sea fishing trip with them and it was stunning!!!
Me and my two sons (9 & 11 years) had the best time under… read more skipper Berno. He taught the kids everything about boat rules and fishing techniques. We caught Mahi-mahi and a Sailfish even saw dolphins swimming with the boat.

  We have been on the hippo tours of all the operators in St. Lucia as my wife is in the tourism industry. The Advantage boats are not always available for… read more clients as they are often fully booked, which means we have had to book with some of the other service providers. Our first choice remains this company as we have always had excellent service, and our biggest motivation for using them is their professionalism and their guides.

The guides put their opposition completely in the shadow. There is absolutely no comparison. The Advantage Cruizer’s guide is super knowledgeable, not just about the hippos and crocs, but also about other aspects of the natural environment. He will tell you about the different bird species, the mangrove swamps, the type of fish and a host of other interesting details about the area.

I have read the odd negative comment here, and I suppose anyone can have a bad day when things just do not work out according to plan, but I can freely recommend these guys based on numerous experiences. In fact, we advise our clients and friends to rather postpone their trip, if the Advantage is not available.
