Imagine yourself here…
As we walked along the estuary, our guide’s finger never stopped moving. By the time we were looking at the hippo “just here in the reeds in the water”, then it was time to spot a fish eagle as it scooped lunch from the estuary.
The short boardwalk we traveled had us catch sight of 2 duiker, a bushbuck, that hippo in the reeds, 2 crocodiles, 4 types of heron, 2 types of stork, an egret, 2 terns, a group of ducks and a flock of geese land on the estuary waters.
And that was just the first 10 minutes..!!

All of our tours are handled online by our Activity Portal, Activitar.com. For actions which need to be completed through the activity portal, you will be directed there in a new tab. Once you are done, easily close that tab to return to where you were here.
What are the sightings?
Sightings on a walk depend mostly on where the tour is being conducted and whether the guests are birders or not. Sightings may include, but are not limited to:
- Birds (for birding tours, this is the focus only)
- Antelope (impala, bushbuck, waterbuck, red duiker, etc)
- Zebra
- Monkeys
- Other small game
And if you’re walking along the estuary, hippos and crocodiles could be spotted too.
