We have been on the hippo tours of all the operators in St. Lucia as my wife is in the tourism industry. The Advantage boats are not always available for... read more clients as they are often fully booked, which means we have had to book with some of the other service providers. Our first choice remains this company as we have always had excellent service, and our biggest motivation for using them is their professionalism and their guides.

The guides put their opposition completely in the shadow. There is absolutely no comparison. The Advantage Cruizer's guide is super knowledgeable, not just about the hippos and crocs, but also about other aspects of the natural environment. He will tell you about the different bird species, the mangrove swamps, the type of fish and a host of other interesting details about the area.

I have read the odd negative comment here, and I suppose anyone can have a bad day when things just do not work out according to plan, but I can freely recommend these guys based on numerous experiences. In fact, we advise our clients and friends to rather postpone their trip, if the Advantage is not available.

Turtle watching - but no turtles - We went on the night turtle safari on the beach in Nov'19 - supposedly a good time.

We (~10 people) spent >6h on the trip going back and forth... read more on the beach and did not find any turtles - which is very dissappointing. No refund also.

It is understood that sightings cannot be guaranteed, but some form of no-sighting compensation should be considered to avoid disappointments (e.g. free voucher to repeat the trip throughout the next 12 months). Also, the advertising should be more transparent about the chances of sighting (e.g. % of trips without sighting) to set the expectation - instead of only saying "sightings cannot be guaranteed", which does not put any value of the likelihood of success. We paid for the trip, which ultimately was useless and cost us not only the price of the trip, but also an evening which we could have spent otherwise.

That said, everything was very well-organized, professional and safe. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
